0739 - Comparison of in Situ and in Vitro Ct Scan-based Finite Element Analyses of Proximal Femora

ثبت نشده
چکیده

INTRODUCTION: Finite element (FE) models for predicting proximal femoral fracture load are useful for research related to the prevention of hip fracture. CT scan-based non-linear FE models have been shown to predict proximal femoral fracture load precisely in vitro. However, if these models are to be used in vivo, we need to know the effect of using CT scan data obtained in situ instead of in vitro. In the present study, we examined the extent to which FE models from CT scans of proximal femora in situ and in vitro yield comparable predictions of fracture load.

Prediction of strength and strain of the proximal femur by a CT-based finite element method.

Hip fractures are the most serious complication of osteoporosis and have been recognized as a major public health problem. In elderly persons, hip fractures occur as a result of increased fragility of the proximal femur due to osteoporosis. It is essential to precisely quantify the strength of the proximal femur in order to estimate the fracture risk and plan preventive interventions. CT-based ...

Patient absorbed dose comparison in CT and Stereoradiography (EOS) imaging during lower limb torsion evaluation using in-vivo and in-vitro dosimetry methods

Introduction: Accurate evaluation of femoral and tibial torsion is essential for children or adult with legs deformity, becuse incorrect legs morphogenesis can lead to pathological situation. CT scan is commonly used for the measurement of skeletal bone parameters. But, disability in imaging from standing and sitting posture and absorb dose of patients are deficits of this meth...
